About the Opportunity
Stone Pacific has an exciting opportunity for a passionate and detail-orientated Civil Construction Site Superintendent to join our team in the beautiful Cowichan Valley, Vancouver Island.
As a Civil Construction Site Superintendent, you will be responsible for coordinating all site activities and supervising all field personnel, as required. You will be a site leader with full cycle management duties, while taking on civil projects valued up to $5 million throughout the Cowichan Valley.
More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing excellent customer service to clients, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Meeting with employees and subcontractors every morning to discuss and document the day's activities, site hazards and safety concerns
- Ensuring all employees and subcontractors receive a properly documented site orientation
- Accurately completing Daily Field Reports (DFR), extra work orders, timecards, and weekly look-ahead schedules
- Accurately completing purchase orders with job numbers and cost codes for all materials and subcontractors
- Meeting with management before a job commences in order to discuss budgets, drawings, hazards, schedules, etc.
- Coordinating with engineers/inspectors for layout and inspections
- Coordinating with management for materials and labour/equipment/trucking required
- Communicating daily with the Project Manager to update on the status of projects and identifying any extra work
- Ensuring that all sites and equipment are adequately delineated and barricaded at the end of each shift
- Adhering to provincial, municipal, and local guidelines regarding specifications and safety
- Arranging or providing training and advice to employees as required and documenting any provided training
About You
To qualify, you will need to have relevant civil construction experience, of at least 3 years in a supervisory role. A valid Class 5 Driver's License is also required. Physically, this role will require you to be able to comfortably lift at least 50lbs.
Possessing any of the following education and experience is considered an asset:
- Some university or post-secondary education
- Water Distribution, level 1
- Class UR FSR (Hydro Raceway) Certification
- Topcon/Survey/GPS
- Confined Space Entry
- Fusion Welding of HDPE Piping System Ticket
- Gold Seal Certification
- AScT Accreditation
- CET
- Level 1 First Aid
